AFP‑Ottawa Presents: Cybersecurity Risk in 2026 – What You Need to Know
Cybersecurity in 2026 is a bit like playing chess against an opponent who keeps changing the rules—and occasionally flips the board. As cybercriminals become faster, smarter, and more organized, organizations need to keep up or risk learning about their vulnerabilities the hard way.
In this session, we’ll take a practical look at the current cybersecurity risk landscape, breaking down the threat vectors and attack methodologies that are most relevant today. We’ll explore how schemes and tactics are evolving, and why yesterday’s controls may not be enough to stop today’s (or tomorrow’s) attacks.
We’ll also discuss the implications for enterprise risk management, including how cybersecurity risk increasingly intersects with operational resilience, financial exposure, and executive decision‑making. Finally, we’ll look ahead to what comes next, highlighting emerging trends and risks that organizations should already have on their radar.
Designed for finance, treasury, and risk professionals, this session cuts through the technical jargon to focus on what actually matters from a business perspective. Expect clear insights, practical takeaways, and hopefully fewer surprises than a real cyber incident.
