What happened to TMAC National?
Like many not-for-profit associations, TMAC National (Treasury Management Association of Canada) suffered financially during the recent economic downturn. Both its annual conference and education programs were significantly impacted, with considerably fewer registrations and less of the financial support critical to the viability of the Association. Consequently TMAC National wound down it operations on October 30, 2009.
Why affiliate with AFP of Canada?
AFP of Canada values the role of regional associations and the complimentary offerings they can provide at the local level. In examining the merits of affiliation, the Board learned that we can remain an independent legal entity and operate autonomously from AFP of Canada. AFP currently has affiliations with 58 regional associations across the U.S. The Board concluded that the AFP of Canada offers the best value of a national body operating in Canada while continuing to permit local autonomy.

Do I have to become a member of AFP of Canada?
No, members of the AFPC-Ottawa do not have to become members of AFP of Canada. You may however choose to be a member of AFP of Canada, in fact many of you are already members. Our local membership pricing has been updated to reflect that you will be paying only for membership in the local association.
