Topic: The European Debt Crisis: Collapse or Renewal?
The Eurozone is at a critical juncture, with economic forces placing huge stresses on the common currency and ultimately the viability of the European Union. Dr. Ken Matziorinis will give his insider’s view on how we might see this debt crisis unfold. As a respected economist and former long-standing member of the board of directors of the National Bank of Greece (Canada), Dr. Matziorinis is uniquely qualified to provide insights to the European debt crisis.

Dr. Ken Matziorinis is Adjunct Professor of Economics at McGill’s School of Continuing Studies and President of Canbek Economic Consultants Inc. a management consulting and economic forecasting firm based in Montreal. He was Economic Advisor and member of the board of directors of the National Bank of Greece (Canada) from 1991 until 2004 whose responsibilities included macroeconomic forecasting, capital markets, treasury and asset/liability management. His current research has focused on the international monetary system, the Greek economy and the European Monetary Union. He is the author of three textbooks in economics and a two-time recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award at McGill. He has provided interviews and contributed articles to numerous national media organizations such as Maclean's Magazine, The Globe & Mail, The Finanacial Post, the Business News Network, the Nightly Business Report and CBC Radio, among others.
