FX Markets in 2017: Risks, Trends and Outlook
In the coming year, the markets are likely to be dominated by geopolitical forces and stifled GDP growth which will have a myriad of consequences. Currency markets are likely to remain vulnerable due to shifting policy risks as market participants assess the outlook for the newly elected US administration.
Moderator: Dr. Greg Anderson, Global Head of FX Strategy, BMO Capital Markets
Dr. Greg Anderson is the Global Head of FX Strategy for BMO based in the NYC office. He has over 18 years of experience as an FX strategist, having worked at Citi, ABN AMRO and BankBoston prior to joining BMO in 2013.
Dr. Anderson has extensive experience as an analyst of both G10 and EM Forex markets, but has particularly deep expertise in the NAFTA currencies. He has lectured on global markets at a number of universities throughout the US. He is the creator of BMO’s Fair Value Model for USDCAD and has extensive experience in the modelling of exchange rates. Dr. Anderson is often quoted by Bloomberg, Reuters and the Wall Street Journal and has made many appearances on TV outlets such as Bloomberg and BNN.
Dr. Anderson is a CFA charter holder. He earned a PhD in Economics from Brandeis University and his Bachelor of Science Degree from Brigham Young University.
