Janet Lalonde
Director, Modernization, Payments Canada
Janet Lalonde is Director, Modernization at Payments Canada, responsible for the delivery of the AFT enhancements and industry adoption of ISO20022 which are both important elements of Payments Canada's modernization program.
Ms. Lalonde has more than 20 years' experience in the financial industry with a strong focus on the clearing and settlement of retail payments including paper processing, electronic payments and cheque image exchange.
Janet Lalonde is a former Co-Chair of the National Clearings Committee, mandated with the efficient operations of the Automated Clearing Settlement System (ACSS), and led the Payments Canada initiative to create a framework of rules and standards for cheque image exchange between Canadian financial institutions. She has presented at a number of industry events including AFP, Women in Payments, the Canadian Financial Operations Symposium, and Payments Canada conferences.
