2022: Modernizing Canadian Payments – An update from Payments Canada
At the heart of our economy is a national payments system, safely circulating billions of dollars each day. The payments system must modernize to support the rapidly changing needs and expectations of the Canadian marketplace; and foster innovation and strengthen competition within the payments ecosystem. Ryan Grundy, Lead, Industry Relations, Payments Canada will provide an update on Payments Canada Modernization journey, and what Payments Canada is doing to develop a modern payments system that will provide new opportunities to simplify and enhance Canadians’ daily payment interactions and help secure and strengthen Canada’s competitive position as a global leader in financial services.
Additionally, the session will look at developments with the High Volume Payments System (Lynx) - Launch and Learnings, a program update of the real time rail (RTR), a look at ISO 20022 - Timelines and Integration, as well as a brief outlook at other ongoing initiatives around Connecting and Collaborating currently taking place.
