Please join the AFP Board for our 2023-2024 Kick-off Event which promises to be an evening packed with an amazing speaker, delicious food and a chance to socialize for an incredible cause!

David has over twenty years experience as a high performing, goal-oriented professional with a proven track record of establishing long-term relationships and partnerships with demonstrated expertise in stakeholder engagement. David is recognized as a passionate and influential initiator of community advocacy with strong public speaking and interpersonal skills, integrity and leadership.

David's career is characterized by a passion for people, relationships and building the community he was born, raised and lives in - Ottawa. David currently works as a philanthropic executive to accentuate his core values of community, empathy and giving back to foster dignity and hope for those who experience chronic homelessness in Ottawa at the Shepherds of Good Hope Foundation as Chief Executive Officer.

David believes in the importance of sport in Ottawa - he brought a professional baseball team to our community and served as the volunteer President and co-owner of the Ottawa Champions Baseball Club from 2014- 2018 leading all community initiatives for the 2016 CanAm Champions. He also proudly co-founded the Miracle League of Ottawa that opened in August 2015 to provide children with special needs a fully accessible and inclusive baseball facility in Orleans.

David is active in his community - he was the volunteer Board Chair and President of the Ottawa Sport Council and is passionate about how sport contributes to Ottawa's growth mindset. Previously, David sat on the Y's Owl Maclure Co-operative Board as well as the Boards of the Ottawa Public Library and the Ottawa Community Housing Foundation. He is currently the Membership Chair for the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Ottawa Chapter).

In June 2009, David received an Ottawa Business Journal “40Under40” Award recognizing him among business leaders in Ottawa and in November 2014, David became a Member of the Order of Ottawa as recognized by His Worship Mayor Watson for his contributions to the local community. David lives in Kanata with his wife Danielle and their daughter Sophia and son Jack.

Approved for up to 1.2 FP&A recertification credits by the Association for Financial Professionals at the rate of one credit for each 50 minutes of attendance.

4:30PM – 5:00PM: Registration and Networking

5:00 PM – 5:30PM: Social cocktail (passed appetizers)

5:30PM – 6:30PM: Keynote Presentation and Q&A

6:30PM – 7:00PM: Social cocktail

Cost for AFP-Ottawa Members: $55 (Please note registration is still required)

Cost for Non-Members: $85

Part of the registration cost for this event will go directly to Shepherds of Good Hope to help support those in need.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations require a minimum 24 hours notice otherwise attendees will be invoiced.
