FX and Interest Rate Risk Management
Global interest rates in recent months have gone on a rollercoaster, especially those on longer-term government bonds. Yields on 10-year Government of Canada bonds are climbing again after pulling back from a 16-year high of 4.26 percent in October. Interest rate moves in other advanced economies have been equally prodigious. Join AFP-Ottawa on June 20th for a brief Annual General Meeting and a highly topical keynote presentation on FX and interest rate risk management. Daniel Martinez, Corporate Treasury Specialist at Bloomberg, New York, will review best practices for liquidity analysis, reviewing market estimates and curve analysis, pre-trade FX and interest rate hedging, as well as monetary policy expectations based on market and analyst estimates.
Prior to Bloomberg, Daniel worked for 15 years as an interest rate and FX trader across firms such as Santander Bank, Natixis, and Credit Agricole. Daniel writes blog posts and speaks at Bloomberg events.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Tec University in Mexico and holds the CFA® charter, awarded by the CFA® Institute.
